Treatment of learning styles in the English teaching learning process

The objective of the work is to evaluate the treatment of learning styles in the English teaching-learning process. The application of several instruments detected that one of the weaknessesof the Foreign Languages Major at Guantánamo University is the work with learning styles in the teaching of English. The first year of the Foreign Languages career was taken as a sample with an enrollment of 48 students and a teacher of the year in the 2016-2017 academic year. The model used to detect the learning styles of the students and the teacher was the Neurolinguistic Programming model NLP of Bandler and Grinder. For the analysis of the results obtained, two elements were taken into account: the level of preparation of the teacher for the treatment of learning styles in the teaching of English, and the level of preparation of the students for learning English. The results obtained in the application of instruments such as the survey, the interview and the observation of classes confirmed that there is little command of the foreign language by the students, and insufficient treatment of the learning styles of the students by the teacher..
