Correlational study between maladaptive behaviors and attachment styles in adolescents in school in the city of Florencia, Caquetá

The objective of this research was to identify the existence of a relationship between maladaptive behaviors and attachment styles in a sample of adolescents attending school in the city of Florencia, Caquetá, highlighting adolescence as a decisive stage in the vital development of the human being that is characterized by significant emotional and social challenges, this based on the attachment theory proposed by Bowlby, for the study a correlational design was used, using psychometric instruments such as the Camir-R to evaluate attachment styles and the questionnaire of abilities and difficulties to identify maladaptive behaviors in the school environment. The results showed that there is no significant relationship between the two variables in the behavioral dimension, however, moderate relationships were found between insecure attachment styles and the dimensions of emotional problems and interpersonal relationships, therefore this finding suggests that the insecure attachment style has a partial influence on the psychosocial well-being of the adolescent.
