Types of contributions
Contributions consist of unpublished works that should not be under consideration of other publications, and should deal with thematic aspects of regional, national and international interest, framed within the disciplines and scope of the journal. They correspond to the following typology:
- Scientific and technological research article.
- Reflection article.
- Review article.
- Short article.
- Editorial.
- Book review.
All contributions, except for the editorial and book review, must be preceded by an abstract in the language in which the work was written and by a version of it in English or Spanish, and are submitted to a double-blind external peer review process, in accordance with APA citation and reference standards. These criteria facilitate their indexing in international databases, ensuring greater dissemination and visibility of published works. The editorial process is illustrated in the following infographic.
Frequency of publication
The journal works under the modality of continuous publication, which means that the articles will be online once the editor's version is available, and are part of an open volume, of a single issue, for the current calendar year (from January to December). This is with the firm purpose of making the research freely available with immediate open access of its content to the public, which guarantees a global exchange of knowledge.
The volume closes during the second half of January of the following year and includes all articles accepted and published up to December 30 of the year corresponding to the volume.
The call for submissions is permanently open, so articles are received throughout the year.
About special issues
The journal publishes special issues, which consist of a supplementary number composed of thematically related short articles that are part of the current volume, based on public calls from the publisher, and also at the request of a researcher representing an external research center / group, formally made to the editor of the journal through the main contact e-mail.
As with regular issues, special issues must fully comply with the guidelines established in our editorial policy and guidelines for authors.
History of the journal
The idea of producing a Multidisciplinary Scientific Journal arose in 2015 as an initiative of a group of researchers and academics, with the initial purpose of having a means of dissemination of scientific and technological knowledge generated within university spaces, to give visibility to the contributions that from the academic debate define the challenges and guide the transformations necessary for the construction of the society of the 21st century.
Thus, in partnership with the GIMIFEC Research Group of the University of Cartagena, that same year our first editorial product is generated: a compendium of papers presented during the celebration of World Metrology Day. But it was not until a year later, when in December 2016 volume 1, number 1, of the Multidisciplinary Scientific Journal was published in printed format, under the name IPSA Scientia.
